You will need some brown play dough for the splats and a toy hammer, or you can use pieces of brown paper.
Teacher will say, uh oh, teddy bear drove through a mud puddle how many splats of mud did he get on his car?
Teacher will pick one of the children to go first and have that child pick one card from the deck, if he or she picks the number 2, teacher will give them 2 small balls of brown play dough to put onto the car picture
and then pass the child a toy hammer to hit the play dough to flatten it and teacher can say 1 splat, 2 splats as they hit the play dough with the hammer.
Then have the child pretend to clean the car, they will remove the play dough and use a paper towel to wipe the game board and then it’s the next child’s turn, repeat until the children lose interest.
Ask the children if they know what color you will get if you mix red and white paint together.
Give each of the children a paper plate with a small mound of white paint and another mound of red paint, give the children a paint brush and have them mix the two paints together.
Next, give each of the children a large piece of paint paper and a small toy truck, show them how they can drive their truck through the pink paint they made and then drive it across the paper to make pretty pink tracks {pink is this months color}.
Have the children trade toy trucks to make different tracks on their paper, you may want to add some blue and yellow paint so they can make different colored tracks on their papers too.

Mix up the movements above and have fun getting the kids galloping, swimming, driving and flying all around the room. If the weather is acceptable outside, laminate the posters and take them outside, attach them to your outside play area, etc.
Set up a sand table with sand or rice for indoor play and place some dump trucks, bulldozers, excavators, etc in the sand table, and then watch the fun begin!
